Thoughts of Gratitude

Image
To our Dear Teachers,                 A sincere message of gratitude, looking back in our lives, we knew it would have been drastically different if we hadn't gotten you as our Teachers in Grade 10. You opened our eyes to what we could accomplish and what we could become in ways that we never would thought to be possible without you. Thank you for your time, your patience, and your realness. We appreciate you for all that you've sacrificed and for who you are, and our interactions with you in the classroom have been the inspiration for our dreams to come around and empower you to connect and teach us, your students on a whole new level. Your courage during this time strengthen our resolve to tackle the systematic issues that have made it difficult for so long. Teaching must be a rewarding job because you are always smiling, energetic, and ready to start a new day. You are indeed the leader of today's young minds and tomorrow's bright future....

An Appeal to the Highest Seat of Power

Image
Dear President Ferdiand "Bongbong" Romualdez Marcos Jr.:             Congratulations on your election to the highest seat of power in our country. I have never written a letter to a head of state before, however, I do apologize for I will not mince my words. Your first few months have left me wanting. The rampant inflation and devaluation of the peso has made things more difficult for the common man. You have shown to prioritize socializing rather than being a social worker. You have put your family and your cronies wants over your duty to our country men who struggle meet the basic necessities of life. Moreover, the fact that you have not yet appointed a Department of Health secretary, amidst a global health crisis, is foreboding. It was as tough you had no greater plans to improve the lives of the common citizenry, and only wished to restore your Family's legacy. However, I will give you the benefit of the doubt. I hope and pray that the 31 million w...

During the Trying times

It's been almost a year since COVID-19 has created unpredictable times for all of us. But a major area of life that has seen significant change is education. Without a doubt, distance has taken some toll on children everywhere. During the second year of suffering this crisis, face-to-face learning was still impossible with the dilemma, we adapted ourselves to distance learning. I was able to cope up during these times through my determination to leave, apart from adapting to this kind of classes.                       I managed to learn from home with the guidance of my teachers and my family. With the help of technology, everything turned out well. The 2 years experience with the digital learning modality was tough. Lack of discussions from our teachers, lack of Technology, sleepless night, these are the problems I experienced. 2 years in Distance learning was miserable, learnin...

Perspective of a Cultivated Artist

I am Jhovia Gillane P. Paz from Bantay, Ilocos Sur. I like playing different types of instruments like guitar, ukulele and piano but most especially the violin. Classical music is the type of music genre I prefer listening to. As the quote goes, "Music is a weapon in the war against unhappiness". Listening to music distinctively classical compositions from the classical era is dragging me to play the violin. The greatest musicians, like Niccol Paganini, Johannes Mozart, and Liszt, served as my inspirations.           Typically, I sketch architectural viewpoints when I'm bored. Sketching landscapes in different overview is how I express my feelings. The study of architecture is like an expedient toward the realization of my goals. Whenever we go on vacation, I always pack my camera. Taking pictures of various things helps me wond...
